Iphone, so hot right now. Iphone.

[–]Treas0n 75 points76 points ago

It's that damn Iphone! It's so hot right now!

[–]sprizzle 148 points149 points ago

"Iphone 5. The biggest thing to happen to the iPhone since the iPhone." I feel like they're just phoning it in at this point.

[–]FurioVelocious 22 points23 points ago

The sad part is that the actual slogan is even worse. Take out the last two the's.

The biggest thing to happen to iPhone since iPhone.

[–]hoodie92 16 points17 points ago

iPhone 6 slogan:

iPhone 6. The iPhone thing to iPhone to iPhone iPhone iPhone.

[–]Sproosemagoose 10 points11 points ago

iPhone 7:

iPhone iPhone iPhone iPhone iPhone iPhone.

[–]wepa 13 points14 points ago

The sad part is that there will still be people who camp outside an Apple store the night before its release.

[–]sprizzle 4 points5 points ago

Ah, good call. I was actually going for the actual slogan, I saw it earlier and thought it was a bit silly.

[–]Draftkinner 41 points42 points ago

The iPhone 5. The biggest thing to iPhone to the iPhone since the iPhone.

[–]jsphenom08 19 points20 points ago

yo dawg, I heard you like iPhones

[–]SoulGlowSpray 2 points3 points ago

Apple is just laughing @ us right now ...I want a apple theme park

Dear God....It's beautiful!

[–]italia06823834 16 points17 points ago

[–]whiskeytab 5 points6 points ago

if I wasn't using an iPad right now I'd photoshop the Magnum look and make his head taller, but this description will have to suffice.

[–]DefloweringPaulErdos 9 points10 points ago

MAGNUM!

[–]Zaied 7 points8 points ago

The next model will be called iPhone Blue Steel

[–]Melly5234 16 points17 points ago

DOESN'T ANYONE ELSE NOTICE THIS I FEEL LIKE IM TAKING CRAZY PILLS

[–]jglobal 24 points25 points ago

The shirts are different! The joke is on you!!!

[–]Dilly_Mac 15 points16 points ago

"I started a joke..."

[–]Birdie_Num_Num 19 points20 points ago

Yeah, and notice how the numbers are different. Some people are just dumbasses!

[–]virati 134 points135 points ago

I sure hope you have a patent for what you just did...

[–]Troy_And_Abed_In_The 21 points22 points ago

In the iPhone 5's defense, Ben Stiller looks best in the blue shirt.

[–]MoonMax 68 points69 points ago

Rounded corners FTW?

[–]cgee 46 points47 points ago

Nice, I didn't catch the rounded corners.

[–]Mimble_Wimble 58 points59 points ago

I thought he was making a joke that he didn't change anything and called it fixed.

[–]imtheotherone 18 points19 points ago

Apple CornersTM

[–]neilz4 18 points19 points ago

iCornersTM

[–]NikkoTheGreeko 6 points7 points ago

It's all in the details

[–]OneSilentE 140 points141 points ago

Well the jump between three and four was pretty big IMO

[–]ahnkou 17 points18 points ago

Problem with iPhone is its like the madden football game of the cell phone world. A new one comes out about every year, runs a little smoother, better graphics, looks and feels slightly different, etc

[–]shush_you 24 points25 points ago

Same could be said of the Samsung galaxy 1, 2, and 3. Each came out a year after the last.

[–]Midnightblues 18 points19 points ago

Exactly! Apple has been sticking with a one phone lineup for the past five years, and people are surprised when they look similar to one another (even though the iPhone 5 and 3GS look worlds apart in terms of hardware). It's not like Apple has 15 different phones to spice things up with, like many other companies.

[–]excusemeplease 8 points9 points ago

As a Korean living in a country inundated with Samsung galaxy phones, the same applies for basically every company.

[–]ZGVyIHRyb2xs 4 points5 points ago

Naughty Korea or South?

[–]gerschgorin 30 points31 points ago

I agree with you there. Not only that, the phone itself may not have changed much, but the chips and software running inside of it have made leaps and bounds even between 4 and 4s. The iPhone 5 does not look to be any different in the respect either.

[–]OneSilentE 18 points19 points ago

Yeah, not only were the looks different, but the technology is NOTICEABLY different. I used to have a 3, and I have a 4 now. The difference is huge, much faster, sleeker, and overall better.

[–]Realsan 31 points32 points ago

Nobody has even used the 5 yet and Reddit's pitchforks are out. Seriously what the fuck are people complaining about? Yeah it's not revolutionary, that would be damned hard to do at this stage in the game. It's an upgrade and it's a GOOD upgrade.

I really wish this flame fest on iPhone would stop. It's annoying. You could literally do the same thing with the Samsung Galaxy phones and you don't see anyone doing that.

[–]ducttapedude 1 point2 points ago

Ah, an Apple person. You finally know what it's like for Microsoft fanboys like myself.

Channel your anger and hate, and realize your true power!

[–]jman2476 8 points9 points ago

Are Microsoft fanboys a real thing, or are you making up terms? I find this hard to believe, unless you are talking about the Windows phone.

[–]ducttapedude 6 points7 points ago

As much as I don't like to admit it, I think I pretty much am an MS fanboy. I like Windows Phone, I like most of Metro (there are parts of Win8 I don't like), I love their research and vision, but I will concede their marketing team is... lacking. Sorely.

They're not a perfect company by any means, but I am always excited when they come out with something new (even if it means being disappointed when they ruin it later). I feel Microsoft's engineers and Microsoft Research is second to none, even Google (though they're a close second). C# is a beautiful language. And you've seen what MS is capable of in terms of hardware when they get it right.

Despite this, I cringe every time Ballmer does... anything.

In these respects, I submit that I am a MS fanboy.

[–]AnAge_OldProb 3 points4 points ago

MS of the past 10 years has done terrifically. I would call most of their product failures PR failures rather than bad products (Vista in particular).

[–]regeya 3 points4 points ago

That new Nokia looks pretty sweet.

[–]ragelover96 -1 points0 points ago

Thank you. Just fucking thank you. I really don't understand why there is such a giant shit storm about it not being any different when the damn phone hasn't even come out yet. They're are some big changes coming to it I'm not sure if people just want to complain without really looking at the new upgrades to it.

[–]ipu42 1 point2 points ago

I'm looking forward to it featuring turn by turn navigation. Super cutting edge. It's not like my girlfriends's android has had that stock for over a yer. Oh and REVOLUTIONIZED headphones.

But hey, the biggest thing to happen to iPhone since iPhone...

[–]zanbato 5 points6 points ago

what are you talking about?! the screen is bigger and at a different aspect ratio AGGGGGHHHHH

(I'm an iOS developer... starting to feel like an android developer)

[–]bubble_bee_tuna 62 points63 points ago

Just wait until they come out with magnum!

[–]dotdotd0t 39 points40 points ago

VOLUME BUTTONS ON THE RIGHT SIDE. WHAAAAT.

[–]shutupjoey 14 points15 points ago

That's revolutionary!

[–]poompt 7 points8 points ago

Magical.

[–]Oct2006 11 points12 points ago

Better patent it!

[–]younglink164 10 points11 points ago

This is such a relief, I'm not an ambipusher so I really struggle with turning down the volume on the left

[–]ILL_Show_Myself_Out 23 points24 points ago

One look!?

[–]flackdaddyxpress 16 points17 points ago

I got the black lung, pop.

[–]ladykramer 3 points4 points ago

coughcough

[–]Kwanjuju 5 points6 points ago

Merman.....merman!!!

[–]captainblammo 113 points114 points ago

Funny pic, but the iPhone iterations are different versions of the same product. So they are probably mostly going to look the same. The new features and upgrades are noticeable to people that use them. That Hansel is so hot right now.

[–]shutupjoey 46 points47 points ago

Man I hate how the new TVs basically are the same as old TVs but with incrementally better features.

[–]werak 4 points5 points ago

Except you don't have thousands of people salivating over a panasonic press conference

[–]InlineSkate 20 points21 points ago

You don't visit very many tech sites do you?

[–]RolandofGan 6 points7 points ago

You also don't see them buying a new TV every year. Of course, I don't see anyone dropping their TVs into a cup of coffee.

[–]Benlo 94 points95 points ago

People act as if Apple is the only company that makes the same product every year, and makes small adjustments. Take a look at car manufacturers (Every Year a New Model) Or even shoe companies (Nike makes the same shoe but changes the look)! Apple is just upgrading there product so that people can enjoy what they are used to even more.

[–]biznatch11 7 points8 points ago

I just thinks it's kinda funny that each iPhone release is such a big production. Both Apple and Apple fans make such a huge deal about it. It doesn't make the nightly news and front pages of newspapers when companies come out with new cars or new Android phones, but the iPhone does, even when the changes are minimal.

[–]Fealiks 7 points8 points ago

Yeah, but Apple is currently the biggest company in the world, so it irks people a bit more.

[–]metro99 8 points9 points ago

Biggest company in the world?

[–]Fealiks 9 points10 points ago

Depends on your definition of "biggest," but source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_corporations_by_market_capitalization

[–]OmniPanther 9 points10 points ago

I guess one might expect more from a company that prides themselves on innovation and whose tagline is "Think Different." There's some cool new stuff going on in the iPhone 5, but...

[–]IriquoisP 42 points43 points ago

But it looks the same, right? Aesthetically, it looks great, so why is it necessary to change the way it looks? I suppose one reason is that people miss the fact that it is indeed a new version of the same product a proven design, and not just the same thing. I have only owned one IPhone, and I've never felt the need to buy every single new IPhone that has been released. Mine's finally crapped out and I've been holding out on buying a replacement for the next version to come out fresh, and I'm tired of people painting me as an Apple-sheep.

[–]MaritMonkey 11 points12 points ago

I'm not much of an innovative thinker, but it's (basically) nothing but a case around a single button and a screen. Why would you change anything at all?

I had an iPod touch before I got my (3GS) phone so it might have just grown on me, but it's still the most comfortable piece of tech I own as well as being a resilient little bastard.

[–]Benlo 7 points8 points ago

I've had the same layout for 4-5 years (every iPhone) and I am very comfortable with my phone. I don't even need to look at the phone to perform many functions. I hope the 5's new longer screen doesn't mess with me to much.

[–]BoonTobias 6 points7 points ago

I don't think anyone's dense enough to get every single one. People usually do what you're doing, get a new one until the old one breaks. Unless of course you have too much money

[–]freindo 4 points5 points ago

It's not apple that is being lampooned, it's the apple buyers who feel like they need the latest one. I didn't go buy a new Rav last year just because my 2010 was getting old.

[–]VERYstuck 9 points10 points ago

To be fair, innovation happens at a much quicker pace in smartphones as compared to the automotive industry.

[–]Electri 17 points18 points ago

You might if it only cost a few hundred bucks..

[–]StarlessKnight 0 points1 point ago

Two things about cars:

  1. No one touts a single model as an [once] innovative, "simply works" car that has everything you need. Now the iPhone's lost ground, but what happened with the iPhone is people started looking at your Toyota and going "Is that a Lexus?" Seriously? It's a car, and specifically a Toyota, but thank you for noticing it's a new vehicle I recently purchased.

  2. Most people don't buy the next year's model of the vehicle they already have, because the next year's model ultra rarely (ever?) has anything worth wasting money like that. Most cars can live 5, 10, 15 years or more before you need a new car. Probably at least 5 before features change enough that might warrant it, or maintenance becomes such an issue it becomes necessary; ideally that'd be closer to 10+. Same with phones. You can buy the next model (e.g. Samsung Galaxy S, S2, S3, etc), but is it worth the price? Or should you wait 2 years and pay an upgrade fee (far less than full retail), if not longer?

As for shoes? Well that varies, but they can wear out in less than a year -- usually because of crappy craftsmanship so, yes, buying new ones every year or two happens. They also get worn down from daily use; phones have less of a problem of wear unless you consider the gradual decline of batteries. Both products would ideally last longer than one or two years, but that certainly isn't guaranteed anywhere.

Phones should have a certain amount of longevity to them. Doesn't stop people beholden to any make and model or OS from deciding to upgrade annually, of course. Their money. Same as if someone bought a new car every year -- though that'd be a worse idea by far given the 'return' on selling the prior vehicle and for considerably less (I mean the iPhone 5 does at least come with LTE, so that's one feature people might really want the iPhone 4 didn't have; might be worth the $200 -- not that they'll get any more data allowance from their favorite carrier for all that speed).

[–]payto360 0 points1 point ago

Nike does actually come out with very different shoes every couple of years. For example:

  • released this year the flyknit made out of a wool like material that fits like a sock;

  • before that they came out with flywire which enabled the use of very light materials by using a wire like structure to support the integrity of the shoe; and

  • previous to this they reinvented minimalist approach to shoes through the nike free range.

Nike may make their shoes in sweatshops in appalling conditions, but the shoes they design in Portland OR are pretty pretty pretty good.

[–]sevendeadlypigs 53 points54 points ago

the difference is inside the phone

[–]justapunkrocksong 76 points77 points ago

The difference is inside the phone! It's so simple!

[–]cant_be_pun_seen 9 points10 points ago

Relax, bro. Dont do it.

[–]simoftw 3 points4 points ago

when you wanna go.

[–]hikemhigh 30 points31 points ago

Inside the phone? Ohh, it all makes sense now!

smashes phone

[–]kentoss 9 points10 points ago

I just did this and now my iPhone 4 has cool spider webs all around it! Thanks for the tip!

[–]internetsuperstar 4 points5 points ago

It doesn't matter. If they changed the design reddit would bitch about the specs. They improve the specs, reddit bitches about the design.

[–]TypicalRunOfTheMill 5 points6 points ago

Hey iPhone, I'm pretty sure there's a lot more to life than being really, really, ridiculously good looking.

[–]fasttalkerslowwalker 21 points22 points ago

Umm, 3G/3GS have waaaay shittier displays and camera than the 4S, which I have. Just those improvements alone have made me more than happy with the improvement when I upgraded.

[–]Internet_Ghost 8 points9 points ago

Same here. My 3GS is on it's last leg. Looking forward to the 5.

[–]fuzzyOtter 0 points1 point ago

My 2g has had enough as well. Perhaps I will just get a 4s instead though.

[–]mortarnpistol 2 points3 points ago

The 4s is amazing. Having that level of a camera in my pocket at all times makes it worth it. Plus, Siri is pretty cool when driving and I can just tell it to play whatever song I want.

[–]Hellenomania -1 points0 points ago

Then you would be happy with a Nokia N95 from 2005 which still has a better camera....

[–]musicalsteve 9 points10 points ago

Hi Derek! My name's Little Cletus and I'm here to tell you a few things about child labor laws, ok? They're silly and outdated. Why back in the good old days, children as young as five could work as they pleased; from textile factories to Iphone sweatshops. Yippee! Hurray!

[–]dudeface_man 21 points22 points ago

The whole design is different and uses a different manufacturing process, almost all the hardware has been upgraded, and there is new version of iOS with features and stuff, what does apple need to do for you to consider it different?

[–]FlukeofNature 8 points9 points ago

Square corners?

/is finally upgrading from his 3gs

[–]llamaiguana 2 points3 points ago

I agree, except the 3G to 4 felt like a decent upgrade to me. I didn't think it was until I saw that display.

[–]Haacker45 5 points6 points ago

I find it ironic that people complain when things change too much, i.e. facebook or youtube, but also complain when some that works fine as it is changes too little.

[–]carpe228 18 points19 points ago

Dude, it has an extra row of icons. If that's not innovation, I don't know what is.

[–]iulius 14 points15 points ago

Where's the innovation in the rest of the market?

I'm an iPhone user, so I'm guessing my opinion doesn't count, but I'm tired of these over generalizations. I see NO innovation in the smartphone market right now, at least outside of Microsoft who's at least trying something with Metro.

Wasn't one of the big selling points of the most recent Android release "buttery scrolling [1]"? Is that innovation? Can iPhone fans snark about something they've had since day one?

[1] http://www.engadget.com/2012/06/27/project-butter-improves-android-4-1s-speed/

[–]boot20 10 points11 points ago

Regardless of where you stand, the smart phone market is not stagnating. Android and Apple have actually started a new OS war, which is a good thing. I'd love to see MS enter the market and do well.

As to the comment about project butter, one of the big complaints about Android is that it is a little laggy or doesn't feel responsive when you use it. So, project butter fixed that. It's one fix of many. The difference between FroYo and Jelly Bean is pretty huge. That is mostly due to Apple competing with Google.

The iPhone 5 isn't just a reskinned iPhone, Apple actually redesigned some of the things in the OS to make it more usable and they actually took some note from Android (which is a good thing) and made them better.

So the reality is, that no matter what side of the fence you sit on, having multiple smart phone OS makers and hardware makers is good for the market.

[–]beertastic 3 points4 points ago

Amen.

[–]Klexicon 24 points25 points ago

Having used Android 2.3 (or was it 2.4) and then going to Android 4.0 I can safely say that google certainly tried to change it. Android 4.0 feels so much different than it did before, and even 2.4 was a big difference than how it was to start.

Not only that, but Jelly Bean (4.1) seems to change quite a bit up. http://www.android.com/about/jelly-bean/

Of course innovation is subjective, but what I understand of the new iphone is that it has:

New camera New screen size A little faster A bigger battery (or better optimized, unsure).

I think what people are talking about the level of change one can expect over the life cycle of a phone. I had an HTC Evo 4g (nearly brand new), and just under two years later I got a Galaxy Nexus (also new when I got it). The difference between the two is astounding.

I'm not saying you are wrong, I just want to present my viewpoint on the topic.

[–]DishwasherTwig 7 points8 points ago

I just last week upgraded from a DROID Incredible (Android 2.3) to a DROID Incredible 4G (Android 4.0), and even in the same line of phones, the difference was dramatic. It's faster, more user-friendly, vastly more customizable, and an all-around better piece of equipment. That being said, no, it's not like the jump from flip phones to smartphones, that sort of innovation doesn't happen much, and even less so at this level where we are approaching a physical limit that phones can handle and still be compact enough to be practical as a phone. Innovation in ease-of-use and customizability is where the market is heading, somewhere that Apple has its roots in, but have nearly severed all ties to. To me, Apple puts form over function. Having a single physical button is just plain stupid. Even adding a back button would drastically improve the user-friendliness of Apple products.

Apple grew from a company eager to push the norm into new and exciting places, advancing technology in its path. Nowadays, it takes two steps back for each step forward.

[–]Contero 4 points5 points ago

I think what people are talking about the level of change one can expect over the life cycle of a phone. I had an HTC Evo 4g (nearly brand new), and just under two years later I got a Galaxy Nexus (also new when I got it). The difference between the two is astounding.

The level of change you're taking about already happened with the iphone, from the 3g to the 4. 4x the resolution, way faster, thinner and a redesign of the outside that still looks amazing.

4s and 5 have been less groundbreaking of course, but you'd have to be willfully ignorant to act like every iphone iteration has basically been the same. That's what I hate about this submission.

I'll probably still get the 5, but I think I'm going to pawn it off to a family member once the next nexus phone comes out.

[–]lettuc3 4 points5 points ago

The problem is people lump software improvements in with hardware improvements. The iphone 5 does a great job of improving the hardware to compete with the market. I don't know enough about the latest iOS to make a comment on the software improvements. It seemed most of the software 'improvements' were based off the bigger screen. As in, oh man you can have an extra row of icons! and see a whole weeks worth of dates in the calendar!. Each Android OS makes pretty solid improvements on the experience, where-as the last couple iOS updates on the iphone didn't do much.

[–]blackomegax 0 points1 point ago

Having used iOS since before it even had an App store. As well as android since 1.5 up to 4.0.

I think they've made "equal" strides of progress. But all of apple's are under the hood. where as android went from Honda Civic to Ferrari on appearance.

[–]WorknForTheWeekend 10 points11 points ago

LTE has been in Android phones for almost 2 years now. The power that the hardware packs is far superior. As far as innovation goes, look at the emerging phone tablets (I hate the word phablet), where you are seeing whole new demographics of applications. The reemergence of the stylus is making way for new ways to use your phone. You see different companies producing these difference niche devices, as opposed to apple's one-size-fits-all.

Apple can engineer a good product. However, it chooses the lone ranger route, and it can not keep up with the collective innovation of google, samsung, etc. The iPhone5 is a "catchup" device, which delivers nothing that is not already offered by competitors. That is the difference.

Also, I am a mobile developer, and I will say that developing for iPhone with xCode is far more pleasant than Android's eclipse abomination, so I'm not exactly wishing for apple to roll over and die.

[–]blackomegax 13 points14 points ago

I'll give apple credit. 8 hours of LTE browsing battery time.

Because they took the time to develop a one chip radio that handles LTE right.

LTE android phones all have horrible battery life in my personal experience. Nowhere NEAR 8 hours. I'm lucky if it lasts 8 hours sitting in my pocket doing nothing.

[–]FlavorAIDs 2 points3 points ago

I think what really makes the iPhone stand out is the superiority of the apps on the app store. I have a Galaxy II tablet, and the apps just aren't that great. The coolest thing is when you jail break iPhones you can even get non-approved apps.

[–]LAWLstudent_ 2 points3 points ago

Android phones only innovate with hardware, which to me, doesn't mean shit if the software is lousy.

I had an android.

Oh, look, the app I downloaded doesn't work for my model of phone.

Oh, look, it crashed again.

Oh, look, there's a million programs running in the background causing my battery to drain instantaneously.

Oh, I'll just install this "task killer" app and painstakingly close every app every time I use it.

It was a fucking annoyance. I got rid of that shit.

[–]BangkokPadang 1 point2 points ago

To me, Apple's OS handles multitasking in the best way, because it doesn't actually run multiple apps, just saves and swaps ramstates.

[–]Paradox 0 points1 point ago

I once owned an iPod 1st gen and it couldn't do video therefore all iPods can't do video and suck

[–]LAWLstudent_ 0 points1 point ago

Your iPod 1st gen wasn't supposed to "do video." My Android was supposed to work to reasonable standard; it didn't.

[–]GTUD 1 point2 points ago

Swype is pretty innovative, if you ask me.

[–]blawler 2 points3 points ago

NFC and Google wallet. Banks getting on board the NFC market to replace credit cards with your phone. Its innovative.

Wireless charging with the Nokia Lumina 920.

This is stuff that is leading the smartphone charge, not just catching up and making it more shiny.

[–]tanmoney 40 points41 points ago

These iPhone jokes are getting old and redundant. It's fucking stupid.

[–]Neslom 19 points20 points ago

I know it is very unlike reddit to repeat a joke. For example there was this really funny one about Australians being upside down. You may have missed it if you weren't paying attention though.

[–]Tovora 114 points115 points ago

I get it, just like the iPhone, haha!

[–]phormality 0 points1 point ago

The 3 and 4 look drastically different.

That's funny, the courts thought that Samsung phones look just like all the iPhones as well!

[–]internetsuperstar 0 points1 point ago

Today: Apple increases hardware performance - mac haters criticize lack of design change.

Next month: Apple changes design - mac haters criticize lack of hardware performance

[–]M0b1u5 0 points1 point ago

Not a single innovation in sight.

Unless you call "instantly making billions of dollars worth of cars and accessories incompatible for your customers", an "innovation".

The iPhone 5 looks to me, to be a steaming pile of fail, wrapped up in a gigantic "Fuck You" to the customer.

I predict sales of Samsung SIII to now go through the roof: people were waiting to see what Apple did, and now they can see that Apple did Sweet-Fuck-All(r) while Samsung has been nailing the specs, the OS and the form factor, while doing it at half the price.

[–]RPbbgun 8 points9 points ago

Its like saying identical twins are identical. They both look the same, must mean they think the same too. Nobody looks at their personality.

[–]djskitzo24 7 points8 points ago

The problem I find is that people look at the outside of the phone and make the judgment off of that. Well the real innovations are on the inside. What your seeing here is components shrinking in size and price to the point that they can be all crammed into this little device. Yeah the outside has some function as well but there really isn't a whole lot that can be innovated on in that realm.

[–]thefigpucker 2 points3 points ago

the last one should stretched out a bit more.

[–]xdropkicknickx 4 points5 points ago

So brave...

[–]overused-meme-alert 0 points1 point ago

So brave

NEE-eu NEE-eu

.

[–]biggie4mayor 2 points3 points ago

Sorry to interrupt the jerk, but do you people not see how much the internal specs are changing and the larger screen or are you fucking retarded? Android phones do the exact same kind of updating.

[–]d1rtboy 2 points3 points ago

You obviously don't have an iPhone or else you'd notice the differences.

[–]D14BL0 0 points1 point ago

There is no iPhone 3. And the 3G/3GS look totally different than the 4/4S/5.

Poorly executed.

[–]chip8222 11 points12 points ago

That's like saying "jeez all of these 42 inch TV's look the same... From the front."

[–]silverwolf761 6 points7 points ago

Well, not that it even matters how similar TVs are, but you USUALLY watch them from the front

[–]stwentz 4 points5 points ago

Turn it sideways, that's where the differences kick in. And they are significant.

[–]smorf_cat 7 points8 points ago

Screen resolution. Won't somebody think of the screen resolution!

[–]danielg7209 -1 points0 points ago

Exactly. And the only reason you're getting downvoted is because Reddit hates Apple products.

[–]sgtbridges23 2 points3 points ago

haters gonna hate.

[–]d3dsh33p 0 points1 point ago

Still can't turn left but you love it either way.

[–]Danny_Plainview -2 points-1 points ago

I agree with this 100%

[–]Fight4Light 2 points3 points ago

So you're blind then? Because the 2, 3G/3GS, and 4/4s all look pretty radically different. The iPhone 5 is made of different materials, has a bigger screen, better hardware, and a whole new improved operating system. What more do you want?

[–]Catsfosho 13 points14 points ago

I agree with your 100% agreement 100%.

I believe we have reached 10000% agreement.

[–]goal2004 4 points5 points ago

I'm the last person to defend apple, but cut the crap. It looks the same because that look is symbolic for the iPhone product and it simply works for what it was designed to do.

The biggest difference in this device is the higher processing power. People don't realize that this thing is more powerful than an original XBox. It's ridiculous.

[–]rossini5 -1 points0 points ago

It's...BEAUTIFUL.

[–]soldierblue -1 points0 points ago

I get that most people don't care about the latest thing. They just want a phone that'll work well enough until it breaks. I get that.

But from my perspective, I like Android and iOS. I like Windows Phone, too. My ideal phone set up is one of everything. This has a larger screen, LTE and some nice industrial design. It's better. I want this phone.

I don't know about the rest of you. But it's time for me to buy some SIM card adapters and go to town.

[–]greenspank34 -1 points0 points ago

So.. the iPhone 5 finally learned how to turn right

[–]thehunter699 0 points1 point ago

Umm... Did the 3gs just get rejected from it's family?

[–]sledsbehave -1 points0 points ago

huh?

[–]KosherKittens -1 points0 points ago

I mean we don't have to argue, the last one is clearly Magnum...

[–]seechao -1 points0 points ago

You get my first iPhone 5 upvote... I still feel a bit dirty tho

[–]irishprincess007 -1 points0 points ago

The calendar was great because I got to show my versatility.

[–]bluebonnetcafe -1 points0 points ago

But it really shows their versatility!

[–]MattC23 -1 points0 points ago

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

[–]d7a7z7e7d -1 points0 points ago

Successful troll is successful.

[–]markmalstrom 1 point2 points ago

You must be taking crazy pills if you think there was ever an iPhone called the "iPhone 3".

[–]allyourrickroll -1 points0 points ago

iMagnum: Different from the last one.

[–]chbrules 1 point2 points ago

Ya, but watch them be all called for come Friday. Here's hoping! * owns $10k in apple stock *

[–]Bravo9000 -1 points0 points ago

ITT: Woosh

[–]assi9001 0 points1 point ago

iPhone 5 - it's more than 4

[–]TacoPrince 1 point2 points ago

Even male models can't not die in a freak gasoline-fight accident.

[–]algorithmae 0 points1 point ago

WHY DOES EVERYONE GET THIS BUT ME

[–]due_the_drew 1 point2 points ago

i'm a hot little potato right now.

[–]wayndom 0 points1 point ago

I don't get it...

[–]abe2323 0 points1 point ago

I'll show YOU one look!

[–]_UsUrPeR_ 1 point2 points ago

Porsche 911. It looks almost the same, but the internals are way different.

[–]SynVisions 0 points1 point ago

[–]air_asian -1 points0 points ago

Forgot 3S

[–]TheOven -1 points0 points ago

I never knew Ben stiller was assembled in a Chinese sweat shop

Explains the poor build quality

[–]dissfunctional -2 points-1 points ago

battery life on this phone is going to suck so bad...Im not going to buy another mophie product ever again.....FUCK YOU IPHONE !!!!!

[–]bumblephuk -1 points0 points ago

Damn I dislike Ben Stiller.

[–]phriend2spin -1 points0 points ago

Like they say, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"! The iPhone 5 is just an annual upgrade in some ways. Apple is all about keeping things sleek and simple, no need to drastically change things...yet.

[–]FrostyFathom 0 points1 point ago

The phone could look like shit but still be absolutely amazing on the inside.... Who cares what it looks like? It's what's on the inside that really counts.

[–]BobVila4Life 0 points1 point ago

I love you for making this post. Brilliant.

[–]beltinbacon 1 point2 points ago

Why do people feel the need to constantly buy the"new and updated" version of something they already own? That's why people are never content with what they have. Do you want it? Yes. Do you need it? Seriously? It's just a fancier version of what you already have. You are only using it to take shitty Instagram photos anyways.

I'll just keep my 4 year old HTC Evo until it dies.

[–]VelvetJammies 0 points1 point ago

The iPhone 6 might be the magnum.

[–]zidjl 1 point2 points ago

50 shades of Zoolander

[–]accisej234 0 points1 point ago

Can your iPhone 3 or 4 talk to you?

[–]alexduhgreat -1 points0 points ago

OMG I agree with this so much, however, next post you come out with should be longer, and have a more clean picture.

[–]FatGirlRodeo 0 points1 point ago

Apple should be suing themself for coping!

[–]Ir-kyle 0 points1 point ago

Remember when phones were just for calling people.

[–]kafer5 0 points1 point ago

i upvoted you only because of the reference in your title.

[–]C00lst3r 0 points1 point ago

For 5s he turns left

[–]lvnlrg85 0 points1 point ago

You forgot 3gs

[–]AndrewElmore 0 points1 point ago

No, you're just remarkably unintelligent.
