Let's not forget that men get raped too, and thus this is also a useful device for them.       No. That's like saying people will set fire to the stores that use shoplift detectors rather than say "hey, shoplifting is a bad idea because these devices exist". You're also admitting that rape is about control rather than sex, because sex crime aggressors would be satisfied with having gotten what they came for and not bother with the extra step of murder. They would simply, upon introduction of the device, go to a local prostitute or ask the person to remove the device--you know, get consent rather than demanding being serviced.

      Your analogy doesn't work. Sorry, but shoplifting isn't comparable to rape. I think we aren't on the same page. I'm talking about places like Somalia where everything and everywhere is filled with gang violence and abuse, not a busy modern city. In those places there are pretty much no police and the people with the guns rule the city.

          The esophagus of a sea turtle is lined with these spines (which are actually very soft) to keep it from vomiting. Since the turtle spends most of its time under water, vomiting would make it drown. This is why when they swallow something such as plastic cups and the like, the choke to death instead.
