Damn....that's almost 3/4 of a ton! More if there were old (pre 1981) pennies in there. (based on average of 181 pennies per lb.)

Actually, it seems that this pyramid is the one with >289K pennies (289318). The pyramid in the linked picture has 287820 pennies.

Actually, it's more zinc than any other metal in a penny.

97.5% zinc, 2.5% copper (core: 99.2% zinc, .8% copper; plating: pure copper))
