Now that is cool, makes me wish the action on the lugermorph in tf2 was animated.

[–]calebb 16 points17 points ago

Please let someone important see this comment and make your wish come true...

[–]sinisterdexter42 19 points20 points ago

I've never seen the mechanism for a luger in slo mo, very cool.

[–]ryancarpenter 33 points34 points ago

God, that is a sexy chamber mechanism.

[–]JamoJustReddit 6 points7 points ago

That is exactly what I thought. Guns can be sexy too,

[–]irrational-numbers 59 points60 points ago

The symbol for steam _^

[–]deathcomesilent[S] 23 points24 points ago

This guy gets it^

[–]AnxAlbumxCover 7 points8 points ago

Thanks haha I totally didn't get it before I saw your comment.

[–]LieutenantClone 6 points7 points ago

I was confused when I saw it was posted to /r/Steam, took a couple seconds but the gears finally clicked in my head :)

[–]Skankintoopiv 3 points4 points ago

was half confused, saw a connect on TF2 and went OHHHHH I GET IT. Didn't know this was posted on r/steam. lol.

[–]Dovahkiin55 14 points15 points ago

The Steam Gun… it shoots your wallet

[–]Slukaj 23 points24 points ago

I'm confused... The Steam logo is a mechanical crank, not the action of a Luger. The Luger uses a crank as it's action, but it wasn't the inspiration.

[–]notafailure 14 points15 points ago

Yeah I always thought it had to do with a steam engine. Crazy, right?

[–]currently_ 5 points6 points ago

That's not the point. The OP never said that. He said that it looked familiar.

[–]jargoon 29 points30 points ago

You're a crank

[–]Shellface 1 point2 points ago

Who's an egghead, eggface!

[–]WazWaz 2 points3 points ago

Yes, like this.

[–]Majackal 1 point2 points ago

Crank was a good movie

[–]nitrous2401 10 points11 points ago

I don't understand... do I not play the right game on Steam for this? haha

[–]c_o_d_a 50 points51 points ago

if i'm not mistaken i think he means he saw the similarity between the steam logo and toggle joint of the luger coming up when a shot is fired

[–]nitrous2401 6 points7 points ago

ohhhhhhhhhh thanks!

[–]ablatner 0 points1 point ago

The lugermorph is also a weapon in tf2

[–]Grokent 0 points1 point ago

Because it is a play on lugamorph which is of the rabbit family. A joke made in Sam and Max. The protagonist being a rabbit and a dog who wields a luger.

[–]Bluuper 1 point2 points ago

Actually, the Max, the rabbit, wields the luger, hence "lugermorph".

[–]Xnfbqnav 0 points1 point ago

Look at how the arm thing pulls back when fired.

[–]ethankz750 17 points18 points ago

Luger

[–]atomicmedic -1 points0 points ago

What about it? One word answer, 3 upvotes? Am I missing a reference or something?

[–]silentnoise 19 points20 points ago

Dude, luger.

[–]atomicmedic 23 points24 points ago

I am aware of what a Luger is, I just don't understand why a one word answer is getting upvoted. He doesn't even say "That type of gun is called a Luger", he just says "Luger", this doesn't benefit people who don't know what type of gun it is, because how do people know that's what he is telling them. It also ads nothing to the discussion.

[–]koobaxion 24 points25 points ago

I don't know why people are downvoting you, but I stand with you in the unpopular opinion corner, bro.

[–]12and4 2 points3 points ago

it looks like a steam engine.

[–]atomicmedic 3 points4 points ago

I understand that, just the comment "Luger" is a little simple and means nothing.

[–]12and4 1 point2 points ago

oic idk ygm

[–]FreeLobster -1 points0 points ago

I believe this is why.

EDIT: Looks like it isn't. So... you only upvoted for the name of the gun?

[–]MrHashish 0 points1 point ago

Am I the only one wondering why there's a kick but no muzzle flash..?

[–]rockstar504 -1 points0 points ago

I bet there's more people here now who know more about guns than r/guns these days, I had to leave that backwards place.

[–]komandokost 6 points7 points ago

That's debatable. Most people here play games with guns, and know very little about them in real life. As long as you can ignore the rednecks, /r/guns is actually a solid subreddit for gun owners and admirers.

[–]rockstar504 0 points1 point ago

I don't want to spew poison, but I promise I have a very legitimate reason for having to leave. Still a proud gun owner, but have gone back to my old gun forums... off of reddit.

[–]carthoris26 2 points3 points ago

All I ever saw on /r/guns was people bitching about trigger discipline - either how it's missing from some picture or how surprised they are that it's present.

That, and arguments where it was blindingly obvious everyone participating had acquired 100% of their gun knowledge from CoD and BF.

[–]komandokost 2 points3 points ago

And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Happy shooting sir.

[–]ch1ck3nch4s3r 4 points5 points ago

/r/firearms is where it's at. /r/guns is like the /r/atheism of guns.

[–]Mad_Hatter_Bot 0 points1 point ago

The gun community hates it when people base all there gun knowledge from videogames.

[–]spaceindaver -4 points-3 points ago

Those people just weren't knowledgeable enough about killing for your taste?
