Just played it. PETA doesn't know anything of the Pokemon canon. In Pokemon, the pokemon enjoy fighting because it makes the stronger and able to evolve, in the game it's for "our cruel enjoyment." Also, in the anime, they openly state how the pokeball is much bigger on the inside than the outside, to the point of a private forest or island, whatever the pokemon wants.

While I agree PETA are asshats, Pokemon battles are still pretty close to dogfighting, isn't it? Even the economy in the pokemon universe revolves around these fights.
